Abia House denies impeachment plots against Orji

Abia State Governor Theodore Orji

The Abia State House of Assembly has consummately dissociated itself from the rumoured impeachment plot against Governor Theodore Orji, describing the notional theorization making waves in components of the state as baseless and unfounded.

Deputy Speaker and House Committee Chairman on Information, Mr. Allwell Okere, who made the clarifications on Friday in Umuahia, verbally expressed the rumour did not emanate from the House.

Okere verbally expressed the House had a good relationship with the governor, which was why “the issue of impeachment is unimaginable.”

He attributed the rumour to regime detractors and mischief makers whose intension was to cause perplexity in the state.

Briefing journalists on the activities of the lawmakers in the month, Okere verbalized the House had passed three paramount bills into law including the Abia State Physical Planning and Infrastructural amendment law, the Abia State Local Regime Transition Law and the Local Regime Council Appropriation Law.
