Begin Ramadan on Saturday, Sultan tells Muslims


The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has directed the Muslim Ummah to commence the Ramadan expeditious on Saturday(today).

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Sultan verbalized through the Chairman, Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Prof. Sambo Junaidu.

Junaidu verbalized the directive followed the sighting of the incipient moon of Ramadan in Gwandu and Argungu in Kebbi State, as well as Durbawa and Isa in Sokoto State.

“Consequently, the Ramadan expeditious commences on Saturday, June 28, which is equipollent to the 1st of Ramadan, 1435 AH,” he verbalized
