Extradition of Nyanya blast suspect on course — FG

The Federal Regime has verbally expressed efforts to extradite the suspected mastermind of Nyanya, Abuja blast, Sadiq Ogwuche, from Sudan are perpetual.

The regime verbally expressed the process was being handled by the International Criminal Police Organisation, withal kenned as INTERPOL.

It verbally expressed that the process is a long drawn one, which requires a plethora of paperwork and tendering of evidence that showed that the suspect was indeed involved in what he was being sought for.

The Director, Public Communication, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amedu Ogbole-Ode, verbally expressed that the process of bringing back Ogwuche was not foreclosed yet, integrating that efforts to extradite him was still on.

Ogbole-Ode verbally expressed the process of bringing back the suspect to stand tribulation for his alleged malefaction would be consummated when all the indispensable formalities had been consummated.

He verbalized, “I am not vigilant that Sudan is frustrating the repatriation of Ogwuche; all I ken is that the process of bringing back the suspect is being handled by the INTERPOL and it is a regime-to-regime thing.

“I am not cognizant that Sudan is blocking Ogwuche’s repatriation. The process requires an abundance of paper work and tendering of court papers and evidence to show that the suspect committed the malefaction for which he is being sought for. I believe the process is perpetual.”

The State Security Service had declared Ogwuche, a Nigerian Army deserter, wanted alongside another mastermind of the Nyanya blast, Abubakar Tsiga.

Ogwuche was subsequently apprehended in Sudan, while the INTERPOL commenced pergrinates to bring him back to stand tribulation for his alleged involution in the April 14,2014 blast.

The SSS had verbalized it once apprehended the suspect on suspicion of terrorism but relinquished him upon pressure from his father and the human rights community.

The police could not be reached for comments on the efforts by the INTERPOL to repatriate the suspect, as its spokesman, Frank Mba did not pick several calls made to his phone on Saturday.
