Fayose’s victory: Osun PDP, APC allege attack on members
By Unknown 17:03
The Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress in Osun State are currently engaged in the inculpation game over alleged attack on some of their members.
The spokesperson for the APC in the state, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, had on Sunday alleged in a verbalization that the PDP assailed members of the APC in Ile Ife, which is the base of the PDP governorship candidate, Iyiola Omisore.
Oyatomi verbally expressed the PDP members, who were celebrating the PDP victory in Ekiti State, assailed some APC members and inflicted injuries on them.
But the Director of Media and Publicity of the Omisore Campaign Organisation, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, in verbal expression on Monday alleged that some APC thugs assailed PDP members in Ibokun, Ifewara, Iwo and Ilesa, the home town of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
The APC spokesperson verbalized, “As a fall out of the governorship election, which was held in Ekiti State on Saturday, June 21, 2014, the Peoples Democratic Party and thugs loyal to Iyiola Omisore, who verbally expressed they were jubilating, took it upon themselves to unleash terror on members of the All Progressives Congress in Ogbingbin, Oke-Ijan and Garage Isale areas of Iremo Ward, Ile-Ife, headquarters of Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State.
“As a result of the bellicose attack on APC members by the PDP thugs, who were celebrating the perceived victory of their party in Ekiti, Ibiyode Kunle (driver) and Suleiman Ayeye (tailor) who were both truculently assailed in front of their house on Saturday 21st of June were rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife, with sundry degrees of injuries.”
Omisore incriminated Aregbesola of engendering a nest of thugs in a desperate pergrinate to instil fear in the electorate following the APC loss in the Ekiti governorship election.
He verbalized, “Some APC thugs assailed some members of PDP in Ibokun, the headquarters of Obokun Local Government Area of the state, tardy Sunday evening with perilous weapons.
“Those who sustained varying degree of injury in the assailment are receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital for security reasons. Our investigations revealed that some of the hoodlums APC had wanted to pergrinate to Ekiti through Oke-Ila end, but who were ceased at the ingression point by security men are now in some strategic towns in Osun State, especially in Ijesaland, where conspicuously the popularity of the incumbent governor has nosedived.
“We hereby implore the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar; and the President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to investigate our claims and avert hapless and helpless people of the state, who may not even be members of our party from further agonies as a result of terror these miscreants are daily unleashing on people.”
