The Nigerian Bar Association verbally expressed on Thursday that the unabated loss of lives in bomb attacks in the country was a designation that the efforts of the Federal Regime to tackle insecurity were not yielding results.
In a verbal expression by its President, Mr. Okey Wali (SAN), the NBA reminded the regime that its fundamental responsibility was to forfend lives and property of the citizens.
The NBA condemned the Wednesday’s blast in Abuja, and urged the regime to do more to bring the dastardly acts of the truculent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, to a terminus.
Twenty one persons reportedly died in the assailment at EMAB Plaza, one of the most diligent shopping complexes in Abuja, while 17 others were injured.
Wali verbally expressed the nation could not afford to perpetuate to lose its citizens as if their lives had no value.
The verbal expression read in part, “This latest bomb explosion brings to the fore the desideratum for the Federal Regime of Nigeria to intensify efforts in bringing these acts of terrorism and insurgency to a cessation.
“We can no longer afford to keep losing human lives as if they no longer have value.
“We withal remind the Federal Regime that further to the principle of convivial contract, Nigerian citizens surrendered their sovereignty to the country in reciprocation for bulwark by the state.”
