Goodluck Jonathan To Support Eagles In 1/4 Finals Of FIFA World Cup

President Goodluck Jonathan has plans to travel Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and support the Super Eagles if the team makes it to the quarter-finals of the tournament, kickoffnigeria reports.

The captain of the team, Joseph Yobo, substantiated president’s plan, integrated that the team would have been even more motivated, if the president could make it to Nigeria vs France match.

"He assured us when he called that he’s abaft us and if we beat France and qualify for the quarter-final, he will come and visit us and visually examine the next game," Yobo verbally expressed.

The Super Eagle’s captain integrated that the whole team hopes to get such a moral booster, in case of victory against France. 

"It’s more preponderant than mazuma, and we are resolute to go there and fight and give our best," Yobo concluded.

CAF wishes Nigeria and Algeria good fortuity

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) welcomed qualification of the two teams from the African continent, Nigeria and Algeria, to LAST 16 at the 2014 World Cup.

CAF Secretary General, Hicham El Amrani, applauded aptitude and skills of both of the teams, emphasised on the “overall progress and development” of football in Africa.

He further substantiated that CAF President, Issa Hayatou, has passed his felicitations to the football federations of the two countries, wishing them to advance to the next rounds of the Mundial.

“We wish the best of fortuity to Algeria and Nigeria as the entire African continent is abaft them,” CAF SG verbally expressed.

Nigeria vs France LAST16 match kicks off in Brasilia on June 30, 2014, Monday, at 13:00 local time (17:00 Nigeria time).
