Kidnappers Threatened To Cut My Mother’s Head, Send It To Me — Bayelsa Commissioner


The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Mr. Furoebi Akene whose mother was abducted by unknown gunmen from her home at  Fonibiri in Southern Ijaw LGA area of the state on Saturday, June 14 yesterday, verbally expressed that the kidnappers have threatened to cut off his mother’s head.

It was reported on June 16 that the commisioner who attested the abduct of his mother, Madam Patimi Akene verbally expressed she was abducted without any gunshot and whisked away by armed men numbering about six at about 12 am and that the kidnappers initially injuctively authorized his resignation from the cabinet of Governor Seriake Dickson but later injuctively authorized  N30m ransom which they  reduced to N10m.

Mr. Furoebi Akene who described the kidnappers threat for relucting to meet theri demand as worrisome while verbalizing in Yenagoa when a group of journalists, politicians and other professionals, under the aegis of  The Parliament, called at his residence verbalized he was not going to be dismayed  by the kidnpaper’s threat albeit it wasmade on telephone.

He verbalized: ”One of the kidnappers, who claimed to be the bellwether of the gang, threatened to kill my mother. He verbalized he will cut off her head and distribute it to my house at INEC Road and the body at the village. Because of the arduousness at getting me to concur with their injuctive authorization, they have ceased calling me to discuss ransom,” he verbally expressed.
