Lagos one-day Governor wants educational improvement


Fifteen-year-old Olabanji Edun, who emerged one-day Governor of Lagos State, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos to intensify efforts in ascertaining stable academic standard.

Edun, a pupil of Army Children Senior Secondary School in the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area acted as Lagos State Governor on Monday after emerging the triumpher of the 2014 Spelling Bee Competition.

The one-day governor verbalized when he and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to Dufil Prima Foods Plc, maker of Indomie Instant Noodles on Monday.

The one day governor verbally expressed no child should be deprived of edification.

He verbalized, “If I were to make any suggestion for Lagos State or Nigeria holistically, it would be edifying development. Without inculcation, none of us will be here today. Inculcation is key and it is the bedrock of any nation.”

He urged other pupils to be strenuously exertive, verbalizing that the accolade bestowed on him had shown that strenuous exertion pays.

“With this experience, I will relish to be the governor of Lagos State. This has edified me that I require to be strenuously exertive and remain focused. There is an effulgent future for a hardworking and earnest pupil,” he integrated.

Managing Director of Dufil Prima and Marketing Manager, Messrs Deepak Singhal and Tope Asiwaju respectively, advised other pupils in the state to emulate Edun.

Asiwaju verbalized, “We ken what it takes to emerge as a champion. We ken that Lagos State has an earnest regime that takes inculcation as a priority; this is why we are fortifying their drive in ascertaining standard academic programmes in schools; this time, through the Spelling Bee Competition. If we invest in the inculcation of the adolescent ones, we ken definitely that we are securing a more preponderant tomorrow. We hope to take the competition to a national level.”

Fashola, who withal hosted Edun, verbally expressed the state’s public schools were engendering academic champions.

He described the emergence of Edun as the one-day Governor, as a designation that there were still great possibilities in the state`s public edification system.

“The story of the prosperity of the children from the state’s edification system inspires us to remain fixated on our course to achieve the full potential of the system. In spite of challenges, the children perpetuate to do their edifiers and their parents proud,” he verbally expressed.
