The North has condemned the political coloration being given to terrorist activities in the north-eastern part of the country.
The umbrella body of the North, the Arewa Consultative Forum, concretely verbalized it was unhappy with the inculpation game between the Federal Regime and the Borno State Regime over the abduction of over 200 pupils in the state.
The terrorist group, Boko Haram, had abducted the pupils from Regime Secondary School, Chibok, on April 14.
The forum, which verbalized through its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Muhammadu Ibrahim, in an interview with our correspondent, verbalized perpetuated attacks by the sect was a threat to the country’s unity.
The ACF verbalized, “It’s lamentable that the issue of insurgency in the north-east zone has been politicised, with the regimes at the federal and verbalize levels inculpating each other of failing to discharge their constitutional responsibility of bulwarking the citizenry. Meanwhile, the killing of innocent people and eradication of their property by the insurgents have perpetuated unabated.
“We must, therefore, amalgamate and fight the terrorists in our midst as their activities are against the tenets of all religions and humanity.
“ACF is unhappy with this development and, therefore, calls on the regimes to sheathe their swords and provide the needed bulwark from further attacks, concrete efforts towards rescuing the abducted Chibok girls and additionally rehabilitation materials to the displaced people in the sundry towns and villages ravaged by the Boko Haram terrorists.”
The forum verbally expressed regimes must intensify perspicacity amassing and be more proactive in tackling the insurgency “that is ravaging the northern states.”
The forum verbalized, “The daily attack on innocent people and bombing of markets, community centres and even regime buildings is a solemn threat to our subsistence as a nation.”
The ACF called on the regimes to take the issue of security with solemnness and provide the compulsory equipment to the military to tackle the insurgency.
It verbally expressed President Goodluck Jonathan had, during the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Executive Council meeting recently, promised to look into the quandaries confronting the military in surmounting insurgency, including the lack of equipment and other logistics.
“ACF equipollently urges the community to collaborate with the military in the areas of perspicacity amassing and sharing to enable the security agencies combat the activities of insurgents and other malefactors in our land,” the forum’s spokesperson integrated.
