The genial Ilorin community trooped out in sizably voluminous number on Friday to be a component of this year’s Project Fame All-Star concert held in their city at the weekend. The show itself lived up to prospects. Sean Tizzle was a handful as he utilized his gift and stage craft to hold the audience spell-bound leaving no one in doubt that he is made for more preponderant things. The crowd comprising largely students of the two tertiary institutions in the antediluvian city was gratified by the MTN brand ambassador.
One of the students at the concert expressed his contentment with the puerile artiste’s performance saying, ‘Sean Tizzle is more in tune with the desire of the youths and I’m ecstatic to optically discern him perform live’.
Chidinma Ekile, the ‘Kedike’ crooner distributed a gusto performance. She commenced by urging a minute silence for the singer, Keffe, who was reported dead that morning. The mood occasioned by the departed songstress gave way for an effervescent and engaging performance by the petite songstress.
The icing on the cake were performances by D’Prince and Sound Sultan. D’Prince was hysterical. He exemplified what every Mavin act epitomises: stage craft and energy. Sound Sultan emerged with his full band. They were a marvel all through the night.
There were great performances from Project Fame’s past contestants such as Adetoun and Omolayo. The two lived up to their elevating profile: the former as the ‘next Waka Queen’, the latter, the next classical music most immensely colossal artiste.
Meanwhile, the auditions to cull an incipient batch of contestants for this year’s Project Fame academy withal took place in the city, precisely at Kwara Hotel. Hundreds of youth trooped out to audition for the authenticity show. Additionally in Abuja, report has it that the audition staged in the nation’s capital was well attended. It was reported that an ebullient youth population came in droves to exhibit their aptitudes for a chance to be famous and affluent.
The next auditions will take place in Port Harcourt and Ibadan. That will be a week from now. The next concert will be held in Lagos, precisely a fortnight from the last concert in Ilorin. The venue is the LTV Lagos premises. According to the organisers, it promises to be frolicsome with MTN ambassadors and Project Fame past contestants in attendance.
