2015: PDP Reps endorse Jonathan, Tambuwal absent

THE Peoples Democratic Party caucus in the House of Representatives on Monday passed a vote-of-confidence in President Goodluck Jonathan.

The lawmakers withal endorsed him for second term.

House Bellwether, Mrs. Mulikat Adeola-Akande, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the cessation of a meeting they had with Jonathan and some state governors elected on the party’s platform.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, was however absent at the meeting attended by his Deputy, Emeka Ihedioha.

Adeola-Akande verbally expressed, “We are PDP caucus of the House of Representatives. A meeting like this is not outlandish because we met with the President who is our party bellwether. We deliberated on issues affecting our party.

“The House caucus on our own decided to pass a vote-of-confidence in Mr. President and withal endorse him for second term.”

When asked whether the President accepted the endorsement, she simply verbalized, “We did the endorsement and we are urging him to run for second term.”

When asked why Tambuwal was not at the meeting, the House Bellwether verbalized the Speaker should verbalize for himself.

“I am sure when you optically discern Mr. Speaker, you will ask him, this is a PDP meeting, conspicuously he will have his reasons why he was not at the meeting,” she verbally expressed.

She verbally expressed security issues were withal discussed at the meeting and the regime was commended for efforts to recuperate tranquility to components of the country.

The meeting commenced at about 9:50pm with the advent of the President at the incipient Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja venue of the meeting.

Some senators who earlier turned up for the meeting were turned back.

Members of both chambers of the National Assembly had earlier been conveyed to the venue of the meeting in Coaster buses.

President of the Senate, David Mark, led his colleagues to the meeting afore they left.

Senator Hosea Agboola told our correspondent that senators were invited to the meeting in error, hence, the desideratum for them to leave the venue shortly afore the meeting commenced.
