APC vows to stop sacking of its govs

Disturbed by the impeachment of its governors, the opposition All Progressives Congress has vowed to take every available licit option to stop illicit impeachment of its governors.

The party on Friday verbally expressed despite the penchant of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to flout court orders and act with impunity, the APC being a firm believer in the rule of law, would perpetuate to seek redress in the court of law.

It was learnt that bellwethers of the party concurred to challenge the sacking of the former Adamawa State Governor, Admiral Murtala Nyako, whom they verbalized was impeached in defiance of a subsisting court order.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, substantiated this in a telephone interview with SUNDAY PUNCH.

He verbalized “All we can do is to take the matter to the court of public opinion as we have done. This country belongs to all of us; we are going to utilize every licit and constitutional betokens available to us to stop this incursion of our constitution.

“We have in recent times drawn the attention of Nigerians and friends of the country to this menace and the likely consequences.

“We are challenging some of these actions in court, what is more worrisome to us is that even when you win in court, they treat it with levity.

He verbally expressed reports of mind-boggling amounts of mazuma allegedly being given to lawmakers to facilitate the abstraction of APC governors must not be swept under the carpet.

The party withal verbalized the utilization of the military to perform pristinely civilian or police functions was debilitating the military and threatening the overall stability of the nation.

Mohammed verbally expressed Nyako’s impeachment was a doleful commentary on the character of the legislators abaft the impeachment.

In replication, the Deputy Majority Bellwether of the House, Mr. Adamu Kamale, challenged anyone who had any evidence of malfeasance against the House to make such public.

He verbalized “Are they saying the 20 allegations levelled against the former governor are erroneous?

“If what we are verbally expressing that he diverted an abundance of mazuma belonging to Adamawa State for personal use is erroneous, are they withal saying that it is erroneous, that he drafted his family and friends into the affairs of regime ? Why did the former governor not appear afore the panel to bulwark himself? Let them answer these questions.”
