FG to reduce losses caused by vehicle breakdown

The Federal Regime on Tuesday peregrinate to reduce economic losses caused by conveyance downturn as it opened the automotive mechatronics training workshop for Nigerian auto engineers.

The move, according to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, is a component of efforts aimed at fortifying the National Automotive Industrial Policy of the regime.

He verbally expressed with the commencement of the training of auto technicians, the country would not only commence to optically discern a reduction in high maintenance cost of conveyances, the decision would withal lead to sustainable employment generation.

Aganga verbalized since training and adeptness development was a major component of the incipient automotive policy, the Federal Regime would perpetuate to amend the manpower of auto engineers so as to keep them abreast of incipient technologies.

He verbalized, “Majority of the cars on our roads have modern electronic control systems and we require to prepare our mechanics with the compulsory implements and erudition to handle them.

“This training programme will equip our mechanics with a deeper understanding of modern conveyance technologies and give them the requisite skills and equipment to rehabilitate them.

“This initiative will lead to sustainable employment generation, reduce economic losses caused by conveyance downturn and high maintenance costs, and make our mechanics and technicians more efficient.”

Withal verbalizing at the event, the Director-General, National Automotive Council, Mr. Aminu Jalal, verbally expressed the Federal Regime was committed to inverting the adeptness gaps in the auto sector.

He verbalized about 1,000 auto engineers had been culled from sundry associations to benefit from the training in the area of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical/electronics and computer applications in modern conveyance operations.

“The training is, therefore, a component of our perpetual efforts aimed at providing solutions to the accommodation and maintenance quandaries of high technology motor conveyances through the engenderment of component craftsmen and women, who will be enterprising and self-reliant,” Jalal verbalized.
