Nigeria Avoids Familiar Foes, South Africa and Ghana in Group A

Hosts Namibia and another first timer Zambia face six the six time champions in the 'group of death'.

Six time Africa Women Championship (AWC) victors, the Super Falcons of Nigeria have been handed a rather peculiar drawing in Group A of the 11-25 October 2014 AWC.
This time around, Nigeria is seeded with teams that could be verbally expressed to stand no vigorous opposition to their seventh AWC designation campaign.
Hosts Namibia will face a tougher challenge in endeavoring to contain the Nigerians in one of the Group A clashes than they will winning the denomination.
The two other teams in Group A, debutants Zambia and West African opponents Cote d’ Ivoire make up the list.

The draw was conducted by CAF Deputy General Secretary, Essam Ahmed, with assistance from Dr. Geingob and Julien Garises, one of the pioneers of women’s football in Namibia.
