PDP employed high-tech rigging in Ekiti poll –APC
By Unknown 20:44
The South-West caucus of the All Progressives Congress held a meeting during the week in Ibadan with a view to fashioning out how to move the party forward, especially after its loss to the Peoples Democratic Party in the last Ekiti State governorship election.
The meeting, which was attended by the National-Vice Chairman of the APC, Pius Akinyelure, and Deputy National Chairman (South), Segun Oni, examined the events circumventing the Ekiti election and concluded that the poll was far from being free and fair.
In a communiqué relinquished after the meeting, the APC alleged that high-tech rigging that was never optically discerned in the country was adopted by PDP to win the election.
The communiqué read, “Ekiti State was under the military siege one week afore and during the election. This was aptly demonstrated by the restriction of forms of kineticism of people and the aversion of APC governors from entering the state for the final rally of the party billed for June 19, 2014.
“As a matter of fact, the military, police, civil defence personnel and armaments deployed in Ekiti State should have been deployed in the North-East, which would have marked the cessation of the Boko Haram insurgency and the return of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.”
