Suarez faces legal battle

Luis Suarez

The Codacons, an accumulation of amalgamations established in Italy to forfend the rights of consumers, is endeavoring to sue Luis Suarez for his “assault” on Giorgio Chiellini, Goal reports.

The Liverpool forward was suspended for nine competitive international fixtures and proscribed from all football-cognate activity for four months after being found guilty of biting the advocator during Uruguay’s 1-0 win over the Azzurri in the group stages of World Cup 2014.

Italian legislation sanctions tribulations into incidents that occurred outside the country if the victim is an Italian citizen and courts in Rome have substantiated that the case has been brought to their attention.

“Now we are waiting to optically discern what the courts decide,” Codacons President Carlo Rienzi told Sport Mediaset.

“If they recognise, as we suggested, a potential malefaction in Suarez’s demeanor, then they can analyse the video and photographic evidence.”

The case was put forward solely by the Codacons and neither Chiellini nor the Italian Football Federation has played a component in the licit action.

The amalgamation has endeavored to file football-cognate law suits in the past, including one which called on Serie A to be halted following refereeing errors.

It was claimed by the coalescence that the mistakes resulted in people who had paid to visually examine the match or have a wager on the game being defrauded.

Meanwhile,   Suarez’s pergrinate to Barcelona could be delayed after reports suggested Liverpool are holding out for an initial lump payment of £75m for the disgraced striker.

Having made it clear that they did not optate to sell Suarez, the striker looks set to leave Anfield following his latest biting incident where he bit Chiellini.

The notion was that a £63m deal would go through this week, with either a player exchange or future payments set to raise the offer, and Barcelona were withal hopeful of paying the initial sum of mazuma in instalments, predicated on performances.

The move is so far advanced that one football shop in Barcelona, designated Futbolmania, has already commenced printing Barcelona shirts with Suarez on the back, along with the number 9 – currently worn by Alexis Sanchez.
