The Government of Oyo State has declared declared seven days mourning for the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao who died from cancer at the age of 69 on June 17.
According to Senior Special Adviser on Media to Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Dr Festus Adedayo, who made this verbalization on Wednesday in Ibadan, "the state regime has additionally declared Friday, June 20, 2014, a public holiday, as mark of veneration for the spirit of the departed soul."
It was accumulated that Ajimobi had earlier on Wednesday visited the Ibadan home of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the state regime had sent a special delegation comprising the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaj Monsurat Sunmonu, the Secretary to the State Regime, Olalekan Alli and two other members of the Executive to London.
The delegation was to accompany the remains of Arisekola-Alao to Nigeria.
