Two Pupils of the same parents have met their untimely death as they were crushed to death by a fuel tanker while waiting for the school bus in Ikirun, Osun state.
Eyewitnesses verbally expressed that it took some hours afore officials of Federal Road Safety Corps could hire a truck which hoisted the truck on top of the pupils.
Meanwhile a resident of the town, who identified himself as Sola verbally expressed the cause of the contingency was due to speeding.
The Unit Commander of the FRSC in Ikirun, Mr. Gabriel Esan who attested the contingency verbally expressed: “Two pupils were crushed by a tanker today. The contingency transpired on Ikirun-Okuku Road. We had to hire a truck to hoist the tanker afore we could abstract the two pupils.
“One of them died on the spot, while the other one was lamentably injured but was still breathing when he was taken to a hospital.”
The FRSC boss appealed to motorists to ascertain that their conveyances were in good condition afore putting them on the road.
He withal urged drivers against contravening traffic rules, verbally expressing doing so would preserve many lives and would ascertain decorum on the roads.
