‘Jonathan’s visit to Chibok unnecessary’

President Goodluck Jonathan
A former presidential candidate of African Liberation Party in the 2011 general elections, Chief Emmanuel Okereke, has faulted the pressure on President Goodluck Jonathan to visit Chibok community in Borno State, where Boko Haram terrorists abducted over 200 female schoolgirls. Okere verbally expressed the visit was nonessential.

While claiming that the Boko Haram sect was being sponsored by “desperate politicians scheming for power in the 2015 general elections,” he recalled that the Borno State Government had earlier been advised by the West African Examination Council against taking exams because of the tensed insecurity in the area.

Okereke, who is additionally Director-General of Taskforce on Illegal Importation of Small Arms and Light Weapons, verbalized these after being conferred with an award in Abuja by the Southern Youths For Peace Initiatives.

He verbalized, “The wave of insurgency had soared and the President came to preserve the country. Yet, people are verbalizing he should go to Chibok. People verbally express President Jonathan should go to Chibok; for what? In a country where there are governors and Minister of Education? In fact, the whole Chibok issue is a sabotage and scam.

“Politicians who are desperate for power in the 2015 general elections are the people sponsoring Boko Haram. About 30 per cent of the country’s borders remained unmanned by security agents.”
