We’re not aware of Alariwo’s shooting –Police

The Oyo State Police Command verbalized on Friday that it was not vigilant of the shooting of famous musician, Alariwo of Africa, in Oluyole Estate area of Ibadan, the state capital.

The news of the shooting, which spread on Monday, was broken by the musician on his Facebook page on Friday where he verbally expressed the bullet lodged in his body had been abstracted.

“He’s a faithful God as he preserved me and my sister, Kenny Aiyeola, progenitor of Winnies Castle Orphanage from the hands of armed purloiners on Monday, 14th of July, 2014 in Oluyole Estate, Ibadan. I was shot but the bullet has been abstracted. Ebami dupe…No Be Lie!” the singer posted through Facebook without giving the details.

Reacting to the incident, Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Ilobanefor, told our correspondent that the command was not cognizant of the shooting because it was not reported.

She withal caution on the utilization of gregarious media to report malefaction.

Ilobanefor verbally expressed, “We are not vigilant of the shooting you are verbalizing about. It was not reported at all. When something like this transpires, the felicitous thing to do is to report to the police and not on Facebook, Instalgram or any of the convivial media. It is not the best way to avail security challenge in Nigeria. The victim should have reported the case and avail us with information to apprehend the perpetrators.”
